Air Compressor Advise | Should I turn my Air Compressor off overnight?

Air Compressor Advise | Should I turn my Air Compressor off overnight?

The easy answer is - yes you should.

Reasons why:

  1. If you have any air leaks in your workshop, the air compressor will run once the pressure in the air compressor drops
  2. Each time the air compressor runs, it starts to use electricity, which is'nt good for your running costs or the environment
  3. If one of the oil distribution reels in the workshop was to burst overnight, the pumps would continue to run through the night causing major damage throughout the workshop
  4. Additional wear on the compressors critical running gear

To turn off your HPC air compressor overnight, do not press the emergency stop button. Simply press the red button shown in the image below, to put the compressor into standby mode. This will save the compressor running through a complete reset routine when restarted the following morning. When the compressor is left in standby mode, you can simply press the green start button and the compressor will restart.

If your compressor is part of a central system or needed for overnight automated equipment, consult your manufacturer or service provider about safe continuous operation protocols.
