The 4 post lift, also known as a 4 post ramp, is a widely used vehicle lifting solution in UK workshops for MOT/ ATL, wheel alignment, vehicle storage and general servicing where full wheel-on support is required.

A 4 post car lift, also called a four-post vehicle lift, is a piece of workshop equipment that raises a vehicle on two parallel runways supported by four upright posts. The vehicle drives onto the platforms and is lifted by hydraulic cylinders, with cables or chains keeping the platforms level on both sides.

Unlike a 2 post car lift, where the wheels hang free for full underside access, a 4 post lift supports the vehicle through its own wheels. That makes it the preferred lift for wheel alignment and MOT/ATL inspections, to meet the standards required by DVSA for class VI, IIV and V Light testing.
