Commercial Vehicle Workshop Installation Bellshill

At Straightset, we dedicate much of our time to designing, refurbishing and delivering complete workshop environments for our customers. Whilst many of our projects focus on car and light vehicle facilities, our expertise extends just as strongly into heavy-duty commercial workshops, supplying robust, specialist equipment built to withstand the demands of HGV operations. Our most recently completed project saw us support our customer with the installation of a fully equipped HGV workshop, purpose-built to service large commercial vehicles efficiently, safely and reliably.

This project was particularly unique for us, as it began through a competitive tender process. Following detailed consultation and evaluation, we were selected as a trusted partner thanks to our specialist knowledge, proven installation capabilities and our successful track record working with this customer on previous sites. From the outset, we collaborated closely with the customer to help shape the workshop layout and services, ensuring the final design aligned perfectly with their operational requirements and future growth plans.

Unlike many of our installations, where we act as the sole equipment supplier, this project required a more collaborative approach. We worked alongside other contractors and specialist suppliers, coordinating schedules and responsibilities to ensure the workshop was fitted out with the best possible combination of equipment. This multi-supplier environment demanded careful planning and communication, but ultimately it ensured that every element of the facility was delivered to the highest standard, with the best equipment to suit the customers’ needs.

A key feature of this job was the installation of a dedicated Class VII MOT Bay, enabling the site to keep every HGV that it sells fully compliant and roadworthy. Alongside this, we installed a comprehensive range of essential workshop services, including air, lubrication and water dispensing systems, oil storage tanks and compressed air generation equipment to support day-to-day maintenance tasks. To handle the demands of heavy commercial vehicles, we also supplied and installed a 24-tonne capacity 4-post HGV lift, providing a safe, reliable solution for inspections, servicing and repairs. All equipment was installed by our in-house engineers, ensuring complete quality control and dependable performance from day one.

The project was overseen by our Managing Director, Andrew Bates, who commented:

Delivered over a six-month period from September 2025 through to March 2026, the completed workshop now provides Motus with the infrastructure and capacity required to service their HGVs efficiently. Whilst the improved layout, specialist lifting equipment and fully integrated service systems have helped to streamline daily operations, reduce downtime and create a safer, more productive working environment for technicians.
