Galvanized Straining Screw c/w Hook - Size M8. Instructions for the safe use of Straining Screws
The Straining screw consists of three parts.; The two end screws and the body.; These parts have been manufactured with complementary tolerances.; Individual parts should not be fitted to other straining screws.
This unit is intended for tensioning wire rope.; It should not be used in any situations where it may become unscrewed.; To prevent tampering you should lock the unit by fitting a locking wire in a figure of eight around the body of the threads.
In use, the threaded sections should always be showing in the central open portion of the body.; It should not be used in a situation where the threads are only partially engaged.; To prevent the threads becoming rusty and causing the unit to seize, grease should be applied liberally to the threaded sections.
The two threaded sections have been cut in opposite directions.; When these are connected to the item requiring tension, rotation of the body in one direction will have the effect of making the assembly shorter.; Rotation in the opposite direction will make the assembly longer.
These screws must not be used for Lifting.
